::Eldora-Orange City

Today we rode 194 miles.  We packed enough stuff for our 18 day trip... coats,  heated vests, maps, tools, computer, camera...anything you can imagine....note the 'red can.'  There's a reason for that!

We headed to Orange City to see the girls play ball.  It was our last chance to see them before the season ended.  The boys weren't playing tonight.  It was a gorgeous ride...thunderstorms all around us but thanks to my trusty navigator, we avoided them all the way to OC.

It's hard to tell who's who!  Maddie and Maci have the same number - 16.  Karson even has number 16!

Tomorrow we officially start our trip!  Next town:  Valentine, Nebraska

Pre-trip

Well, we're almost ready for our trip!  We're check-check-checking to be sure we have everything we need.  Our bag is packed and it's not even overflowing.  We are going to be able to fit everything we need without too much trouble!

We have a slight change in plans.   Our girlies are playing softball on the same night in the same place which NEVER happens so we are leaving at noon tomorrow and headed to OC to watch them play.   The boys have no games - bummer.  Next time.  Anyway, we'll stay overnight and head out on Friday morning for Valentine, Nebraska...just as planned but we'll be half-way there!

Here's Harley...

Harley got a little (more) chrome, I got some peg extensions for my short legs and we both will benefit from our new Road Zeppelin air seat.  We'll let you know how it feels after 4,000 miles.

16 hours and counting...cannot wait to get this show on the road!

We might need chains!

p.s.  Dave informed me this was a HAIL storm.  But I still think it looks like we need chains!

Our dream trip!

On July 1, Dave and I will start out on our long awaited trip to the Calgary Stampede.  Dave has planned this trip for almost a year and talked about it even longer!  He sits every morning looking at maps, checking mileage, searching for the best motorcycle roads in our Harley Touring Handbook, then on Google Maps and then verifying them on paper maps.

We have our trip planned, Harley is in tip-top shape and we will soon be packing our bags.  We will go where neither of us has been.  It's a bit out of my comfort zone but it is going to be so much fun!  

Our overnight stops are listed above.  Our plan is to check in each night.  Wish us luck and please pray for safe travel.  It's not Dave I'm worried about but those other crazy drivers out there.
