Day 4::Green River, WY - Twin Falls, ID

Today we rode 373 miles.

We finally got to Idaho.  The scent of lavender and sage brush was heavenly!  It smelled like a load of fresh laundry.  Here, I saw my first field of wheat and potatoes.  I'm sure Dave is tired of me asking a million questions from the back.  What's this?  What's that?

Our trip to Twin Falls was pretty uneventful,  It was a day of riding and taking in the sights {and scents} of Idaho.

Here are my history lessons for the day.  Skip over them if you don't like them but this is seriously very interesting stuff!  When I sit on the back of Harley and watch everything go by, I think of how hard it must have been for those emigrants {and how thankful I am to be living today and not then}.

BIG HILL

We rode along the Snake River and once we got to Twin Falls, we stopped to see Snake River Canyon.  It was gorgeous and the Perrine Bridge is used  to train base jumpers while attending the Snake River BASE Academy.

Seeing Snake River Canyon was awesome.  We were really hoping to see some base jumpers but no luck this day.

One of our main reasons for traveling through Twin Falls was to see a friend of ours, Casey Meggers. Casey and Briana were married a year ago and we were not able to attend their wedding.  In true Renee fashion, no wedding gift was sent so we decided to deliver it in person!  In addition to a little gift we also had a sign made for them.  I called Casey's mom to see if they had a favorite quote or saying.  I was thinking something really 'lovey.'  Casey's mom messaged me back with this:

WE DON'T RENT PIGS!

What?!  I had NO idea what that meant.  I googled it and it's a quote from Lonesome Dove.  I really wasn't sure I wanted to have that made for them but I did.  We had it shipped to our hotel in Twin Falls and we took it to Casey and Briana.  They were kind enough to have us for supper and we had the best steaks ever.  They were ever so gracious!  And they loved their new sign!

Casey & Briana will celebrate their 1st anniversary this week.  We wish them a lifetime of happiness!

We ended our night watching a few fireworks from the hotel.
Then we crashed.

Tomorrow:  Salmon, ID

  1. Sounds like an awesome day! I'm sure Casey enjoyed having you as you surely brought a little bit of "home" to him. Can't wait to see what the next day entailed!
