Today we rode 273 miles. It was a shorter day than the others but IT.WAS.BRUTAL. It was also the most gorgeous. We went through the Sawtooth Mountain range and there were thousands {okay I'm exaggerating but there were probably a hundred} twists and curves and I think at one point we went about 50 miles without seeing a town. That doesn't sound like a big deal but it was hard. It was cold and we wore our heated vests and the wind gusts were GUSTY!
By the end of our day, the weather had warmed up and we stripped down to our t-shirts.
So, first up: my history lessons!

We rode along the Salmon River from Hailey to Salmon. It was absolutely gorgeous.
We rode through Hailey, ID and stopped in at the Visitor Center. We had a nice chat with the gal that worked there and she suggested a place to stop for lunch - Redfish Lake.
Our overnight in Salmon at the Sacajawea Inn. Funny, we met a guy at our hotel this morning who was asking us where we're from, where we're going. He asked us where we were staying in Salmon. Well, he had stayed there last year. He warned us it wasn't anything fancy but it was comfy and the owners were nice. He said he stayed in the Racoon Room! We got the Wolf Room.
Since I'm a day late posting this: He was right. The beds were comfy. It didn't take long to die.
